A stylish opal glass wall lamp with grey-glazed porcelain mount, designed in 1956 by Bauhaus designer Prof. Wilhelm Wagenfeld as Model 'WV 351' for German lighting and electrics company, Lindner. Wagenfeld's working relationship with Lindner was fruitful, and he designed at least 33 lamps for the factory between 1955 - 1970.
Unusually, this lamp was catalogued as a multi-functional object, to be used as either a standard internal/external wall lamp, or as a house-number light, meaning that a housenumber could be painted or transfer-printed onto it and then the lamp mounted outside.
